Much has been made of the persecution of Christians. Even in today’s US government, persecution of Christians has been alleged and a commission established to root it out. Less is made of persecution perpetrated by Christians against those who also claim to follow Christ, but in a different way. The doctrine of the Trinity has been one of the most enduring flashpoints for the rally cry: “Kill the heretics!” Is that evidence that the Trinity is a false doctrine, or does persecution reveal a greater heresy?
