Some of the most interesting pastoral conversations I’ve had have been with people who claim that they are possessed by demons. Usually, the conversation reveals that the person is using it for shock value to gain attention. They are in full control of their faculties but trying to possess my attention and time. Despite these conversations I still believe that demons are real, and some people become possessed by them. We see this indicated in the ministry of Jesus, and in his authority over demons we find a protective power and grace.
